Ys Seven, Lara Croft, and And Yet It Moves

Aug 12, 2010

Keep up-to-date with all the latest video game releases! Kidzworld has all the latest games to keep watch for. This week, we preview Ys Seven, Lara Croft, and And Yet It Moves!

Ys Seven

The classic (and oddly titled... How do you pronounce "Ys," exactly?) JRPG series is coming to the PSP this week in its seventh installment. This may be a sequel, but don't worry, like Final Fantasy, you should be able to jump right in on this game or any other in the series. There's 30+ hours of gameplay to try out here. Even better, you can save anywhere, which you kinda need on a portable pick-up-and-play system like the PSP. The action-packed combat system lets you upgrade specific skills for each weapon you equip, leading to some really epic moves.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

This title, downloadable on the Xbox 360 next week, is really different from Lara's usual Tomb Raider series. It's an isometric combat game (like Diablo, kind of) with an emphasis on arcade action and bite-sized puzzles. Laura's joined forces with an ancient warrior named Totec, the Guardian of Light. The game's really made for two players to work cooperatively, but solo gamers can take it on just as easily. Playstation 3 and PC owners can also get a whack at the game, but they'll have to wait all the way until September 28th. Harsh.

And Yet It Moves

The prominent indie PC game And Yet It Moves is coming out on Wiiware next week, using some updated graphics and controls. The game's a physics-based platformer, letting you change gravity to make your way along the paper-thin course. Seriously, it's made of paper, and it looks cool. Tilting the Wiimote rotates the world, (if you want... There are lots controls to choose from in the options) but watch out! Innocent platforms can quickly become deadly obstacles when gravity changes.
