The World Cup final is all set for Sunday, July 11th in South Africa. It’s going to be the Netherlands and Spain that will meet for the very first time as neither country has ever won a World Cup.
Spiffy Spaniards
Spain was actually the favorite country to win the World Cup before the tournament started. They played poorly in the first round and lost the odds to win the Cup after losing to Switzerland. But after their game against Germany in the Semi-finals, Spain looks like they are the favorite. Their fancy passing and ball control is quite amazing and they should be able to beat the Netherlands.
Don’t count out the Dutch
It really is anyone’s game as the Netherlands is also a great team. The Dutch have lethal strikers that can score amazing goals from anywhere. Dutch defender Giovanni Van Bronckhorst must have scored the nicest goal of the World Cup against Uruguay as he booted a laser in the top corner from 30 yards. You may not be able to pronounce his name, but Wesley Sneijder might be the MVP of the World Cup.
Orders to the Octopus
There has been quite a phenomenon that has grown in popularity since the beginning of the World Cup and it has to do with an animal that has 8 arms. His name is Paul and he is an octopus that lives in Germany. His job is to predict who will win the World Cup games that Germany plays. So far Paul has been 100% accurate! Check out how Paul does it on youtube…
Paul’s Prediction
Well Paul won’t predict who will win the World Cup Final since Germany is not playing, but he will predict who gets 3rd place as Germany plays Uruguay on Saturday July 10th. As far as the final is concerned… I’m picking a great game between Spain and the Netherlands and it should go into penalties with the Netherlands coming on top.
