With all your returning favorites, and a new cast of quirky characters, Toy Story 3 is the best animated film of the year. Kidzworld has the inside scoop in our movie review!

They say movie sequels never live up to their originals. But that’s not the case with Toy Story 3. The film had all the adventure and charm of the first two movies, with hilarious new characters who took it…to infinity, and beyond!

How Animated Films Have Improved

It’s been 11 years since Toy Story 2 and a whopping 15 years since the first movie! Most of us weren’t even born yet! But in those 11 years, you can see how far animated films have come, both in the 3D visual effects and the talent of the writers. Toy Story 3 is chock-full of hilarious lines that will tickle not only your funny bone, but also your parents’. The funniest new addition to the toy box was undoubtedly the vain, fashionable and somewhat feminine Ken—Barbie’s new playmate.

Toy Story 3 Summary

In the film, Andy is now 17 and he’s heading off to college. But what will happen to all his toys? Instead of placing them in the attic for safe keeping, they’re mistakenly donated to Sunnyside Daycare, where, on first inspection, their futures look bright. The other toys welcome them with open arms and there is a constant stream of kids to play with. But first impressions can be deceiving.

Instead of lighthearted make-believe, these preschools seem to be unleashed from the evil underworld. They smash and chew and stomp on their toys, and they even smear them in paint! By the end of playtime, the classroom looks like a war zone. Somehow they have to reach the classroom where the gentle kids play, or escape Sunnyside for good. But when some new friends turn against them, escape seems impossible.

Best Animated Movie of 2010

Toy Story 3 shows how friendship is a lot like family. And how kindness always triumphs over evil. Not only is it the best of the Toy Story trilogy, but it’s perhaps the best animated film of 2010. Toy Story 3 is a must see!
