Allstar Weekend has toured with Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez and now these talented guys are ready to step into the spotlight for their first headlining tour. Check it all out in Kidzworld’s exclusive interview with Allstar Weekend!
With their debut album “Suddenly” being released on June 22 and a massive summer tour beginning this month, Zach, Nathan, Cameron and Michel have a lot on their plate! But all that hard work is finally paying off for these ambitious musicians. “We recently wrote songs with Andrew McMahon, the singer and frontman of Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin,” lead singer Zach says. Allstar Weekend also recorded with James Bourne of Busted and Sam Means from The Format. “Although the song we wrote with Andrew won’t be on ‘Suddenly,’ we have plans to use it very soon!” Zach reassures us.
Shows With Selena
Allstar Weekend will be embarking on their first headlining tour this month, but the guys have lots of experience in the touring department—and they’ve played with some big names. “We played a couple shows with Selena [Gomez] a few months ago,” says bassist Cameron. “She’s a very sweet and talented girl—it’s impossible not to be friends with someone as nice as her.”
Bustin' On Biebs
The guys also had the chance to tour with the current pop phenomenon, Justin Bieber. “I personally really enjoy listening to Justin Bieber,” says Cameron. “Especially his new album. are all awesome songs.” Drummer Michael, on the other hand, laughs and says, “I think everybody is a Justin Bieber fan whether they like it or not,” referring to the Bieb’s massive popularity. “But everyone in the band seems to enjoy his music,” he says.
American Tour Begins July 4
Allstar Weekend can’t wait to get back on the road. “We’re going on tour throughout the States starting July 4,” says lead guitarist Nathan. “Fans can expect a lot of energy on and off stage. We want them to know that we’re not there just to play a show, but to chat and get to know each and every one of them.”
What's Next?
So what can fans of Allstar Weekend expect for 2010? “We expect to do more touring, play more shows, and of course the release of our debut album!” says Michael. “But honestly, everything is so unexpected right now that not even we have a clue of what’s to come!”
