Jessica Szohr (pronounced “Zoar”) got her start modeling everything from Kohl’s department store clothes and Jansport backpacks, to starring in Mountain Dew commercials and gracing the pages of Seventeen magazine. But guest spots on shows like CSI Miami soon helped Jess move into TV work.
It wasn’t until when Jessica landed the role of Vanessa Abrams on Gossip Girl that she really started to get noticed. Although only booked for three episodes, Jessica’s acting chops impressed the cast and crew so much that she was signed on as a regular character. Lately, Vanessa and her childhood friend, Dan Humphrey, have been rekindling their feelings.
Vanessa Dating Chuck?!
Although Chuck Bass is all about Blair Waldorf, off the set of Gossip Girl he only has eyes for Vanessa. That’s right, Jessica Szohr and Ed Westwick (who plays Chuck) are an item! In fact, they’re so in love that Ed’s even been talking about buying a house for Jessica. He recently told Hollywood Life that he’s “going to be incredibly busy working,” because he has “to make some money and buy a nice house for Jessica.” It’s a nice sentiment, but like his character Chuck, Ed isn’t a guy who rushes in—he won’t be buying Jess a house anytime soon. Ed’s just dreaming about the far off future.
Piranha 3-D
This Spring, Jessica makes her big screen debut in the campy horror flick, Piranha 3-D, a remake of the 1978 original. Expect lots of screaming from Jessica and the other characters (played by Jerry O’Connell and Elizabeth Shue) when some hungry, man-eating piranhas disrupt their lake vacation.
