Okay, so neither Jess nor Lisa Origilasso is actually named Veronica, but we’ll have to forgive the confusion ‘cause these twin sisters make some awesome music. Check out The Veronicas on Kidzworld’s Celebrity Twins!
Jessica (who’s older by one minute) received her first guitar on her 18th birthday and the sisters started writing their own music soon after. Success came quick for the talented twosome, due in part to their already thriving acting careers. You might’ve caught Jess and Lisa on the Suite Life of Zack and Cody where they played twin sisters Emerald and Sapphire.
Hook Me Up
The Veronicas really made a name for themselves in 2007 with their second album, Hook Me Up. The Australian girls hit it big in their home country—they even releasing their own clothing line! Jess and Lisa even got to tour the U.S. with the Jonas Brothers in the summer of 2008! Their single Untouched made it to number 17 on the Billboard Singles Chart and sold so many copies that it reached gold status!
Love Lives
In Revenge Is Sweeter (Than You Ever Were), Lisa borrowed a line from her ex-boyfriend Ryan Cabrera’s song On The Way Down. The two dated in 2005, but their relationship only lasted until the middle of 2006. Jess was rumored to be dating an Australian MTV VJ, but she claims they’re just friends.
New Veronicas Album In 2010
On Christmas Day, the Veronicas posted a clip of their new song Could’ve Been which will appear on their third studio album due out later this year. The girls are back in Brisbane recording what they say will be a very different sounding record than what Veronicas fans are used to. Jess says their influences come from artists like Ladytron, the Dead Weather and Mazzy Star.
