Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver are great games to be sure, but they are remakes of the second generation pokemon game! If you are itching for a truly brand spanking new Pokemon game, you will be happy to know that the fifth generation has been announced!
Keep it Simple
The new generation, Pokemon Black and White, will feature a whole range of new pokemon to capture, train, and battle. Only two of the new pokemon have been revealed so far: the foxy Zorua and its evolution, Zoroark.
Make it Amazing
While most of the game play should remain like it has in previous Pokemon games, there will be some new features that will set Black and White apart as the next generation. It has been reported that the PokeCenter and PokeMart will be combined into a single building, along with the Global Trading System.
As well, there are a lot of graphic upgrades. Cities and some routes will be done in pseudo 3D. Battles will be more exciting to watch, as battle animations will now feature multiple angles, similar to Pokemon Colosseum. Unfortunately, there is no word if there will be special features for the new Nintendo 3DS, as Black and White have been announced as regular DS games.
The Waiting Game
The release date for Black and White has not yet been announced, but the games are slated for a fall 2010 release in Japan. If the time between the Japan and North American release of HeartGold and SoulSilver is any indication, we should see Black and White six months after our fellow trainers in Asia gets it.
