Star Wars Roleplaying Game Review | RPG | Jedi | Force | Lightsaber | Wizards | Starfighter | Droid
Wanna be a Jedi? Check this out...November 11, 2000 was the preview launch for a new Star Wars game from Lucasarts and Wizards of the Coast. They're the guys that make the wicked Star Wars video games. Their latest toy is the Star Wars Roleplaying Game and it's a bit different.
The Star Wars Roleplaying Game doesn't play on the Nintendo, you don't need a computer or even a Playstation to run it. All you need is a couple of dice, some paper, a few pencils and your imagination. The game is a book that shows you how the Star Wars universe works, everything from blaster fights to Jedi duels and pod racing.
To play the game you need to get some friends together. One person runs the game and everyone else plays a 'Character' trying to complete a daring quest. Rescuing a princess, stopping an imperial blockade, even outsmarting a Hutt. The 'Characters' are heroes like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Queen Amidala or you can make up your own. Ever wanna be a hot shot pilot? Make your character a pilot and blaze through the spacelanes. Got the urge to fire up a lightsaber and feel the force? Making a Jedi is as easy as one-two-three.
The Star Wars Roleplaying Game is made by some of the best game designers in the world and they've done well. The art is great and mixed up with movie shots and quotes to keep things fun. Don't forget: Always let the Wookie win!
