Keep up-to-date with all the latest video game releases! Kidzworld has all the latest games to keep watch for. This week, we preview The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Bookworm, and Playmobil Pirates!
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
The Zelda series is back on the DS (Phantom Hourglass was the last one), and this time promises more puzzles, a new whirlwind attack, and trains! The spirit flute, which you play by actually blowing into the DS, uses Koji Kondo's incredible music and applies it to cool rhythm gameplay. Also new are phantoms, which work together with you to get through dungeons, as you can control them by laying out their path with your stylus on the bottom screen. The spirit train, which you can upgrade in levels, lets you get across the world in style, switching tracks and avoiding other trains and animals on the tracks.
Bookworm
Popcap Games' Bookworm is coming out for the DS on December 8th. The DS version takes the PC game's word-finding gameplay and takes it portable, while adding in unlockable libraries and themes and multiplayer. If you've never played the game before, you spell out words using an array of letters that fall over time from the top of the screen. The longer the words, the rarer the letters, the better your score. Just to keep the tension up, some letters are "burning," and if they reach the bottom of the screen, you're done.
Playmobil Pirates
In Playmobil Pirates, you go on a Caribbean voyage with One-Eye to explore a world of plastic pirates and find the nine pieces of Blackbeard's map to find the treasure and rescue a mermaid. The game lets you explore and trade, while completing seventy missions and trying your hand at six different mini-games. Gold you earn from completing missions and trading can go to, I'm not making this up, this is how they put it in the game, "pimping your boat." Awesome.
