Whether you're in love, just a little in like, or simply wishing you were, Kidzworld is counting down the Top 10 Love Songs of 2009 for you.
#10. Owl City :: Fireflires
Go figure that a song about insomnia became the sleeper hit of 2009. Owl City channels the dreamy casio tones of the Postal Service, all while dancing the fox trot around the sock hop under your bed. Okay, so the lyrics are nonsensical, but like all of love’s mysteries, there’s just something in this song that makes sense.
#9. Jordin Sparks :: Battlefield
Love will always have its up and downs, but when a relationship sees more war than peacetime, Jordin Sparks raises the white flag and belts it out with Battlefield.
#8. Katy Perry :: Waking Up In Vegas
It looks like Katy finally got that Hot n’ Cold guy to walk her down the aisle—too bad he wasn’t totally conscious when they said their “I do”s. That’s what you get when you wake up in Vegas!
#7. Drake :: Best I Ever Had
Drake uses this song to thank his girlfriend for sticking by him even when he was struggling. He promises to pay her back when he makes it big—hopefully she gets some Q.T. now that he’s on top of the R&B game.
#6. Kelly Clarkson :: I Do Not Hook Up
After a scrapped album that never saw the light of day, it’s good to see Kelly getting back to her pop roots and unleashing a playfully aggressive tune about valuing herself and making sure the guy she goes out with values her too.
