N'dambi Interview

Nov 26, 2009
Birthplace: Dallas, Texas

N’dambi is touring North America to promote her new album, Pink Elephant. Kidzworld got a chance to sit down and talk to N’dambi about touring, storytelling and mingling with the crowd.

Strong Storyteller

N’dambi graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in English and Creative writing, so Kidzworld asked if her educational background helps with her songwriting. N;dambi’s response was an emphatic yes. “Definitely,” she said. “I think of time, place and setting when I write my songs. What’s important to me is to paint a picture so that people can find their truth. I don’t know everyone’s story, but I try to observe life and see what it means to me. Then I write songs and hope other people can find themselves in that.”

Fan Favorite

And N’dambi is there for those fans who really feel something in her music. “I’m definitely one of those people who’s going to mingle with the crowd,” she says. “I usually try to stay after shows and meet and greet folks.”
