Available for the Nintendo Wii and DS, the weight loss television series The Biggest Loser comes to a video game system. On the DS, it’s nothing more than a lifestyle planner, but the Wii version offers that in addition to actual gameplay supporting two Wii-motes and the Wii Balance Board.
DS Version
The Nintendo DS version of The Biggest Loser offers an exercise routine planner and meal guide/cook book with digital calorie counter. It amounts to nothing more than a glorified workout and “lifestyle” manager. If you own a Nintendo DSi then you can use the camera to take a picture of yourself as a biggest loser contestant but this won’t make a difference to most people. If all you’re looking for is a product to guide you through weight loss routines then certainly there could be value here. The Wii version however, offers a more robust package.
Wii Version
The Wii Biggest Loser brings workout mini-games along with most of the features offered with the DS version, such as a nutrition planner. With Wii Balance Board support and the workout games offering support for two players makes, there is far more to do in this Biggest Loser. This version, much like the DS, offers explanations of different styles of exercise and allows you to meld them together into a customized workout routine complete with the amount of time to be focused on each event.
The Biggest Winner
The Wii version is the better of the two, and certainly if you’re looking for a weight loss plan beyond what Wii Fit offers, the Biggest Loser has enough there to help you along the way to well being, and certainly makes better use of the Wii Balance Board. Ultimately, you’re only going to get out of it what you put in so you must be dedicated to the game to become The Biggest Loser.
