This puzzle game based off of the popular cutesy farming sim doesnt quite capture the spirit of Harvest Moon, but is a decent game neverless
Harvest Moon is a popular series where you plays as a young farmer, trying to get your crops to grow every year. The series is so popular, that it already has one spin-off game, Rune Factory, where you alternate between farming and fighting monsters in dungeons, RPG style.
The other game based on Harvest Moon was Island of Happiness, which was a puzzle game. Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming is a sequel of Island of Happiness and it continues to expand upon the puzzle game structure of the first game.
Puzzling Plants and People
Frantic Farming introduces more story. The Harvest God and Witch Princess battle each other at the start of the game and their [KWLINK 19075]magical attacks[/KWLINK] messes up all the plants on the island, causing crops to grow everywhere. The point of the game is to clear up the crop and return everything to order.
In order to do that, you puzzle! Just like in Island of Happiness, grow your veggies and harvest them. Line up items and make chains of combos to score points. Your character will carry out the actions on the top screen, plucking crops as you clear them on the bottom screen.
There are 12 different character to choose from and each have a different storyline to follow. Each character has a unique ability that can help you when you puzzle. For example, Shea can do a rain dance to grow crops better.
Blue Ribbon Quality?
Some Harvest Moon fans will enjoy this game, but you really need to be a puzzle fan to appreciate this game. The game has a great length and replay value, featuring 10 chapters of stories for each character and various mode, including logic puzzles and instant puzzles. As well, there is a good single card and multi card multiplayer option so you can always play with your friends.
