St. Louis hip-hop heart-throb Jibbs is best-known for his hit song “Chain Hang Low.” Now he’s back with a new anthem for a sizzling summer 2009.
Jibbs is getting ready to release his second CD – New Tempo, New Swag. The album will include the hot new hit “Dedication (Ay, DJ)” featuring Jibbs’ former Scream Tour mate and R&B singer Lloyd.
“It’s more mature, more grown up, it’s showing a different side of me now and how I’ve matured is subject-wise” the 18-year-old rapper says of his new disc, which will drop in August ‘09.

This banging high-school anthem required some imaginative thinking and role playing on Jibbs’ part, since the star never actually attended a real high school (he got signed at 14 years old and was home schooled after that).
“I went off what I saw in movies: the proms, the graduations, the homecomings, and what my peers tell me that I didn’t get to experience,” he explains.

Mini Bio
Jibbs’ real name is Jovan Campbell – he got his nickname as a child for his gift of “jibber jabber.” His mom’s a former rapper and his dad’s a musician – even his older brothers are making their way in the rap game. Jibbs’ musical inspiration comes from heavyweights like the Notorious BIG, Jay Z, Eminem, Lil Wayne, and hometown star Nelly.
And, if you missed Jibbs’ recent appearance on 106 & Park, the girls in the audience were so excited to see him they almost ripped his shirt right off his back! Now that’s what we call a HOT rising star!
