There’s an amazing place in Mt. Hood, Oregon, called Windells Camp – it’s so cool that some people even call it the Funnest Place On Earth. Basically, Windells Camp is a non-stop camp experience for snowboarders, skateboarders, freeskiers and BMXers.
Windells Camp was in 1988 by nine-time National Champion and two-time Vice World Champion snowboarder Tim Windell. The camp’s goal is to not only improve kids’ skills on the slopes and on the street, but also create a fun and safe place for kids to creatively express themselves through sport.
Plus, it’s a place to meet new friends and rub elbows with your favorite snowboard, skateboard, freeski and BMX pros. If you love any of those sports, you can fine-tune your skills at Windells Camp's snowboard, skateboard, freeski and BMX parks with super pipes, rails and jumps.
All kids are welcome at Windells Camp, whether you’re a beginner or already advanced.
The Windells Camp campus has 15 acres dedicated to BMX with full-blown dirt trails, concrete parks, box jumps, vert ramp and the only indoor park in the region, which is called BOB which includes a new 75-foot mini ramp, street course and giant foam pit to provide riders with an opportunity to safely work on new tricks and maneuvers.
Windells Camp also offers coaching for all levels. Whether it is dropping in for the first time to riding the biggest trails imaginable, coaches can help you practice and improve your skills.
Campers can stay overnight or attend the week-long camps daily. The camp includes instruction, food, prizes, supervision, video review, camp activities and more. To register go to www.windells.com.
