Keep up-to-date with all the latest video game releases! For this week, we preview Plants vs. Zombies, Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball, and Disney Sing It: Pop Hits.
Plants vs. Zombies
Plants vs. Zombies, PopCap Games' (of Peggle and Bejeweled fame) latest casual title. This one's a bit different though, and PopCap are calling it an "action-strategy game". Zombies are invading your house, and your only chance to stop them is with a large array of special plants, which act something like turrets and mines against the zombies. But just as your plants start to get cooler, the zombies specialize too, with buckethead zombies, zomboni drivers, and even zombie dolphins trying to break in. Like most PopCap Games, you'll probably get addicted sooner than you think for the scant $20 price tag.
Finally Deciding Which is Cooler
That age-old (well, maybe a couple of years old) question is about to get settled: Which is cooler, pirates or ninjas? The common ground between them: dodgeball, of course. Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball allows you to settle the score with not just pirates and ninjas, but also zombies, robots, and another, locked, mystery team that will come with a future download. With special abilities for each character and combat moves to dizzy your opponents while you go for the ball, there's a lot of action going on screen at once, it looks pretty crazy.
Disney Sing It: Pop Hits
The Disney Sing It series is back with a new title, Pop Hits! If you're aware of the other two in the series, you'll know basically what to expect, music videos that you get to sing along with, as you try to carry the tune as best as you can. You can even record your performances and create your own music videos with special effects! A new Duet Mode gives you and a friend the chance to earn extra points by harmonizing together. You can sing along with Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Colbie Caillat, Demi Lovato, Hannah Montana, Jesse McCartney, Coldplay and One Republic when the game comes out this fall.
