That 80s Show - Sneak Peek. Metal bands ruled the charts along with pop acts like Madonna. Jump in your time machine for the premiere of That 80s Show.
Remember the days of jelly bracelets, roller-skating, Rubik's Cubes, teased hair 'dos and decal Ts? A time when heavy metal acts ruled the charts along with pop acts like Madonna, Prince and The Go-Go's? You probably weren't around yet but I bet your aunt or uncle can fill you in on what was hip.
In the tradition of That '70s Show comes the next decade in That '80s Show - a show about the lives of a group of 20-somethings during the '80s in San Diego, California. The show is set in 1984 and focuses on Corey (Glenn Howerton) and Katie (Tinsley Grimes), who live with their dad RT (Geoff Pierson) along with Corey's pal, Roger (Eddie Shin.) Corey is a struggling musician trying to make it in a tough biz but his dad, RT, is a successful businessman who's about to hit the big time by jumping on the fitness trend with his invention - The Gut Wacker.
Roger seems like a bit of an odd friend for rock ' roll Corey seeing how Roger listens to motivational tapes and idolizes US President (at the time) Ronald Reagan. Corey's younger sis Katie is a sweetheart who's a little on the naive side.
Every show's gotta have a hangout like Central Perk (Friends) or something. This gang hangs out at Club Piranha. Sophia, Corey's ex who broke up with him to explore other relationships, hangs out there too. One of Corey's only "safe" hangouts is his work place, Permanent Record, the local record store.
In the first episode Corey has to deal with a new girl, a punk who has a mohawk and a feisty attitude. The show has some of the same producers as That '70s Show so there's a pretty good chance it'll be as funny - which means it'll kick butt!
That '80s Show premieres on Wednesday, January 23, 8:00 - 8:30 PM ET/PT on Fox. You don't wanna miss it! For more on That '80s Show check out the official site.
