Whoever said boy bands were squeaky clean can swallow soap! Backstreet Boy, Nick Carter was arrested January 2nd in Tampa, Florida for resisting arrest without violence. Nick (21) was at a bar when a fight broke out. When the police arrived, he was apparently arguing with a woman. The officers told Nick to calm down and asked him to leave - they arrested him because he didn't. Nick was later released and is set to appear in court on March 4th.
The force seems to be with *NSYNC, who are set to appear in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. It's unknown which members of *NSYNC will have cameos in the flick but it won't be the entire band. The guys will appear for a moment in a big scene with tons of extras. The flick hits our galaxy on May 16th, 2002 and stars Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen.
We haven't heard the last of Lady Marmalade, Christina Aguilera. She's been working on her new disc in LA since September. According to RCA, the CD is scheduled to drop in June. The disc and songs are still untitled but you can expect to hear the first single in April or May.
Michael Jackson's 30th Anniversary Celebration is re-airing on CBS, January 9th, 2002 and will include unseen footage of Britney and Lil' Romeo.
Get set for The American Music Awards airing on ABC January 9th, 2002. The show will be hosted by P. Diddy and Jenny McCarthy and will include performances by Usher, Lenny Kravitz, Uncle Kracker, Kid Rock, Britney, Cher and Shaggy. Britney will be headlining NBA All-Star Read to Achieve Celebration on Saturday, February 9th, 2002. She'll perform her latest tune, I'm A Girl, Not Yet A Woman, on the special hosted by Ahmad Rashad and Summer Sanders. Britney will also be a member of the NBA All-Star Reading Team which is made up of NBA & WNBA players, coaches celebs and others. Mark your calendar for 11:00 AM ET, February 9th on NBC, TNT, BET, Nickelodeon, NBA.com TV in the U.S., and Much Music in Canada.
