You may soon see Shaq slam-dunking criminals into the LA County jail. Shaq says he wants to be a cop one day and has started taking classes from the county Sherrif's Department for harbor patrol duty. He already has a custom-fitted uniform and could begin volunteer duties in February. "I just have a love for policemen because they've always been the real heroes in my life," says Shaq.
There will be plenty of members of the Detroit Red Wings at the 2002 NHL All-Star game in Los Angeles. Brendan Shanahan and Brett Hull are the wingers with the most votes for the North American All-Star Team. Detroit Red Wing captain, Steve Yzerman, has the most votes among North American centers. For the European All-Star team, Sergei Federove is the leading center, Nikolas Lidstrom is the leading defenseman and Dominik Hasek is the leading goaltender. Sevilla soccer player, Francisco Gallardo, went a bit too far when he celebrated a teammates goal on November 28th. After Antonio Reyes scored for Sevilla, all his teammates tackled him to the ground in celebration. But Francisco didn't just give Antonio a hug or a high-five, he actually bit Antonio on the nuts (that's right, Francisco bit down right on Antonio's balls.) Sevilla won the game, Antonio said, "I felt a slight pinch," and Francisco is now being investigated by the Spanish Soccer Federation.
