If youre an *NSYNC fan, you had a special reason to be thankful this Thanksgiving - CBS aired *NSYNC Live: The Atlantis Concert. It was a great way to veg-out after too much turkey.
If you're an *NSYNC fan, you had a special reason to be thankful this Thanksgiving. *NSYNC Live: The Atlantis Concert, which aired Friday, November 23, 2001 was filled with old hits, new faves and great dance moves. The special was filmed at The Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas on a huge outside stage. It started off with some *NSYNC classics like Tearing Up My Heart and It's Gonna Be Me but quickly moved into material from their recent album, Celebrity. The biggest bonus here was for people who weren't lucky enough to see the PopOdysessy Tour this summer. It was their first chance to see songs like, Up Against The Wall, Girlfriend and Gone done live.
In typical *NSYNC fashion - the performance was broken up by personal moments with the guys hanging out in the Bahamas and chattin' about life. My fave non-performance moment was when the guys went to the aquarium and sung a capella in an under water glass room (with fish floating all around them.) They sounded better than ever!
As for fave performance moments - Justin on his knees during Gone, he just gets so into the song! And it was awesome when they sung good ol' songs like Fire and Rain and Stand By Me with Tim McGraw because everyone got a solo - even Lance (back-up only) Bass. Go Lance!
The biggest problem I had with the show was the solo performance by Tim McGraw. Afterall, I'm not watching *NSYNC Live: The Atlantis Concert to jam to McGraw tunes. I'm watching to see JC's ever-growing hair bobbing to the beat, Justin's eyes scrunch up when he hits a high note and Lance scramble to follow the dance moves - not Tim McGraw shake his Wranglers. I would've much rather heard another *NSYNC tune.
