When a cranky, aging dentist has a near-death experience, he gains the ability to communicate with the dead. And they really annoy him! We're checking out this extra-spectral new comedy.

Is There a Doctor in the House?

Dr. Bertram Pincus (Ricky Gervais) is a grumpy, friendless and unintentionally hilarious dentist who goes into the hospital for some routine tests and ends up dying, only to be revived seven minutes later. Phew! That was a close one.

I See Dead People

When Pincus leaves the hospital, he notices a change right away. Strange people on the street keep approaching him for help, but he seems to be the only one who can see them. It turns out Pincus's new fan club are ghosts who need his help to clear up their unfinished business here on earth. One particularly pushy dead dude, Frank (Greg Kinnear), who needs Pincus to help break up his widow's new engagement to a smooth talking human rights lawyer. What could go wrong, right?

All You Need Is Love

When Pincus sets eyes on Frank's widow, Gwen (Tea Leoni), he's instantly smitten so he devises a plan make her fall in love with him - with Frank's help. Of course, things get complicated really fast and they get hilarious even faster. You'll have to check out Ghost Town to see if Pincus gets his girl. And will that be enough to free Frank from his ghostly after-life?

Bottom Line

Ghost Town is a funny, light and likable romantic comedy that will to appeal to a wide range of audiences. Ricky Gervais is better known for playing hilariously unlikable characters, but you can't help but root for him in this genial comedy.
