Zoolander Movie Review

I jumped in line to watch Zoolander hoping that this VH1 character spin-off movie wouldnt make me gag. By the end I was howling! Zoolander is a hilariously harsh look at male modeling.

You know the world is in trouble when a bunch of airhead fashion models are the only ones who can put a stop to child labor in Malaysia. Welcome to the world of Derek Zoolander, male model.

Zoolander (Ben Stiller) has ruled the male modeling world with his 'Blue Steel' look for years but now a hidden conspiracy is looking to brainwash him into becoming a secret weapon for evil. If that isn't enough, a hot new model, Hansel, (Owen Wilson) is taking over as top model and a reporter is spilling the beans on Zoolander's brains, or lack thereof. If the well-manicured moron can't figure out what's going on in time to stop it, he's doomed.

Ben Stiller takes the character of Zoolander from the VH1 Fashion Awards and launches him to the big screen. Surprisingly it works - Zoolander is a blast! It slams fashion modeling, fills the screen with celebrities from Lance Bass to Fred Durst, throws hair-brained conspiracies at you and puts Milla Jovovich in some hot looking evil outfits.

The movie is full of funny moments but my fave has to be the gasoline fight Zoolander's friends get in. Gasoline fight? Yup, don't try this at home kidz, watch the movie to find out why.

If it weren't for a couple of dull moments and stupid jokes, like when Zoolander and Hansel are trying to use a computer, this flick would be top-notch. Even with the odd problem, it's still a blast and well worth watching.
