Wage wicked warfare with custom-built robots in the funky Mechaton board game! We review the smashin and bashin action.
The Mechaton board game is a weird one. It's a game of smashin' robots fighting for control of a futuristic battlefield but, for a board, you can use any space and the more terrain the better (overgrown backyards and messy bedrooms are perfect). For robots, you build a custom army of mechanized doom with weapons, armor, sensors and more. Mechaton recommends using LEGO but you can use MEGA Bloks, K'NEX Bricks or any building blocks. Heck, if you have a big enough space to play, you can use BIONICLE, EXO-Force or NEO-Shifter robots, just triple the range for weapons. Need dice? Grab some from your parents' Yahtzee game. Once you and a friend or two have your robots ready to rock, you run them around the battlefield, grabbing stations and blasting each to scrap. Each point of damage knocks a part off of your robot, lose all four and your robot is toast! Unfortunately, the rules are confusing at first - take notes for the first few games until you master them.
Now, here's the really wicked news - Mechaton only costs $6! It's a .pdf you can buy online then download and print out.
