Help for Your Headaches

Dec 27, 2006

What's on your mind... literally? Have you been suffering from headaches and wondering what to do about 'em? Get the info you need on headaches right here.

Headaches - Heading Off Headaches

There are two kinds of headaches that can affect you - regular headaches and migraine headaches. Everyone experiences headaches from time to time, but some people are afflicted with chronic headaches (which means they come all the time) or migraines (which are extremely painful headaches that come once in awhile). Most teens will go through a time when they get more headaches than they used to because your body is going through a lot of changes. If you find you're having a hard time dealing with chronic headaches or migraines, you should see a doctor about the best treatment for your pain. There are some preventative measures and home remedies, however, that you can try as well.

Headaches - Things That Make Heads Ache

Certain foods and environmental factors can influence the intensity and frequency of your headaches. To help alleviate your headache pain, it's a good idea to avoid eating things like cheese, ice cream, hot dogs, chocolate or fried foods. Caffeine is also something you should skip if you have trouble with headaches.

Headaches - Healthy Routines Make Heads Happy

Sticking to a regular routine can often cut down on the number of headaches you're faced with. Getting a proper amount of sleep (as a teen, you need between 8-9 hours of sleep per night), eating a well-balanced diet, drinking lots of water and keeping physically active can make a big difference. Reducing your stress levels will also help with your headache traumas.
