Mighty Marian
Marian Gaborik started playing hockey when he was three years old in Trencin, Slovakia where he grew up. He joined the Minnesota Wild in 2000 after being picked third overall in the NHL entry draft. Marian made an immediate impact for the Wild by scoring the team's first-ever goal in their first game. In 2003, Marian established himself as one of the the NHL's top superstars. He scored 30 goals and played in the NHL All-Star Game. In the 2003 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Marian led the Wild to the Western Conference Finals and was one of the top scorers in the playoffs.
