Top Teams
The top teams in March Madness through the first two rounds are Duke, Maryland and Kansas. All three are number one seeds and all three still look like favorites to advance to the Final Four. Duke had a brief scare against Notre Dame but when the Blue Devils had to turn it up they did. Jason Williams has looked great for Duke - showing why he should be one of the top picks in the 2002 NBA draft.
Sweetest Shot
The sweetest shot in the first two rounds of March Madness belongs to Terrel Taylor of the Creighton Bluejays. Terrel nailed a three-pointer with less than a second left to give the Bluejays an 83-82 win over the fifth-ranked Florida Gators. Terrel has a Michael Jordan tattoo on his right arm and made the shot wearing Air Jordan shoes, socks and sweatbands. Perhaps he's on to something.
Biggest Upsets
Three teams pulled off big upsets to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. The Kent State Golden Flashes embarassed the second-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide 71-58 in the South Region. In the East Region, the 11th seeded Southern Illinois Salukis made the Georgia Bulldogs look like dog food with a 77-75 victory. The lowest seed still alive in March Madness is 12th-seeded Missouri. The Tigers ripped the buck out of the fourth-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes 83-67 to move on to the Sweet Sixteen.
