FuMan Skeeto Clothing Review

Dec 24, 2018

By: Kristen M. Foley

With his quick wit and knack for practical jokes, some might have thought that *NSYNC's Chris Kirkpatrick would've used his spare time perfecting his stand-up comedy routine. Instead of cracking jokes, Chris is taking a crack at the fashion world with his FuMan Skeeto clothing line. But would you believe that even the name of his clothes started out as an inside joke? (Something involving one of Chris' braids and a mosquito. Dare we ask more?) Don't worry, Chris' tie-dyed T-shirts and studded denim jackets are no laughing matter. They're hip, they're hot and they are made just for you. Kidzworld freelancer Kristen M. Foley had a chance to sit down with Chris in New York. Here's what the original FuMan had to say.

What made you want to do the clothing line?

Chris: I saw so many different styles on so many different people. We saw a lot of stuff that was popular overseas and started wearing it over here and people were like, 'Wow, that's a cool idea.' And it was really kind of old over in Germany and the U.K. I thought why don't we try to bring all the cultures together and make a clothing line so that kids who don't get a chance to go overseas can be stylish.

What kind of feedback have you received about the clothes?

Chris: We've received really good feedback. With the first line we had a lot of considerate people. With this line we've gone a step forward and taken all the designs into the forefront and everyone who has seen it loves it and loves the clothes.

Even with all the success you've had, is there anything that still makes you nervous?

Chris: Everything still makes me a bit nervous. We (*NSYNC) have all grown to support each other so much that when Joey and Lance were promoting their movie they'd call us and go, 'It's weird. It's not comfortable up here promoting the movie without everyone else.' When I'm doing a lot of the clothing promotion it's not comfortable for me to be here without the other guys because we are a group above anything else. We all lean on each other and we all rely on each other. When we're not [altogether] it just feels a little awkward.

It's still early but what are your plans for next year?

Chris: We're going to go back into the studio and we've got a lot of time off. We're all writing towards the new album already. The reason why we drop so many albums, (it seems like one every year) is because when we get a break, or are on the road and we're in our hotel rooms, we just start writing. We have a lot to say and a lot on our minds so a lot will come out.
