Arthur and the Invisibles Nintendo DS Game Review

Courtesy of Atari
The animated Arthur and the Invisibles movie hit theaters at the end of 2006 and now you can play through the fantasy adventure with Arthur, Princess Selenia, Prince Betameche and the evil Malthazar! This Nintendo DS video game is loaded with 90 mini-games, plus pet mul-muls. Gary shrunk down to minimoy size to check out all the fun - excitement and here’s his game review!
Arthur and the Invisibles – Game Basics
Joining Arthur and friends in their
adventure to stop the
villain Malthazar involves playing a lot of
mini-games! You get three tries to pass 10 games. If you do it, you battle a
boss, unlock a
bonus item for your mul-muls and
unlock the next level. Every couple of levels, you get to see a bit of the adventure from the movie. You can also
raise a pet mul-mul!
Arthur and the Invisibles – Fun and Excitement!
Most of the mini-games are a hoot! They take about three seconds to play and have you doing goofy stuff like
flying mosquitos, outrunning
monsters, picking berries and more. You can
unlock them and can play them whenever you want too. The
mul-muls are also pretty cool. You can pet them with the touch screen, give them
treats, have them fall in
love with mul-muls from your friends’ games and then they can even
have babies!
Arthur and the Invisibles – Nasty News
What’s going to
drive you nuts is that some
mini-games are
super-easy, but others are
mega-hard and it’s totally random. You could be all “La-la-la this is easy!” then suddenly get your butt kicked. It’s frustrating! The
pet mul-muls are disappointing too cuz they’re
boring. Seriously. Go pin some wings on a cotton ball instead.
Arthur and the Invisibles – Adventure or Disaster?
Even though it’s loaded with
mini-games and lets you
raise a pet,
Arthur and the Invisibles falls flat. If the mini-games weren’t so screwy, and the mul-muls had more
personality than cotton balls, it would have been way cooler. Instead it’s for hardcore fans of the movie only.
Arthur and the Invisibles Thumbs Up:
Lots of mini-games to play!
Images from the movie.
You can raise a pet mul-mul.
Arthur and the Invisibles Thumbs Down:
Totally random difficulty in the mini-games.
Raising a pet mul-mul is a snore.
Almost nothing to do with the movie.
