Museums - The Vatican Museums

This museum is located in Vatican City along with St. Peter's Basilica. It's also the home of the Pope. These museums are like the Smithsonian museums because there are more than one. There is the historical museum, a giant library, a museum that focuses on Egypt and a lot more. It started out in the 1500's with a small collection and now hosts up to 3 million visitors a year. While in the Vatican City, check out the Sistine Chapel as well. It is one of the most beautiful interiors of any building you'll see!

Museums - National Museum

The National Museum is located in New Delhi, India and has over 200,000 objects. These artifacts range from terracotta pieces from the Indus Valley to pieces belonging to the Kings and Queens that once reigned over India. There are tapestries, books, manuscripts, etc. The pieces range over 5,000 years and the guided tours are in English, Hindi, Japanese, French and German. But there is one surprising thing. If you want to go, be expected to pay more than the citizens of India. If they pay 20 rupees then you pay 200 rupees to get admission! Don't let that discourage you from checking out other places India has to offer lik the food, the Taj Mahal and the beach state of Goa!
