There are some video games released that simply never meet their potential. Other times, great games are made but are overlooked for whatever reason. And then there are really popular series that just faded from existence.
Here's 8 games that Kidzworld would love to see rebooted for today's consoles.
Primal Rage
Okay, so Primal Rage wasn't that hot to begin with, but that also makes it perfect for this list. The hook is fantastic. Wage epic one on one battles as an assortment of prehistoric beasts. How crazy could this fighting game be if put together by a solid team on today's hardware. Kidzworld would nominate NetherRealm Studios, the developers of Mortal Kombat to handle this hypothetical reboot.
Pokémon Snap
How the Pokémon Company and Nintendo didn't make this a reality already on Wii U just baffles us. Pokémon Snap was a fun, on rails game where players were tasked with taking photos of Pokémon with a camera. The Wii U GamePad has been severely under utilized by developers and a new Pokémon Snap game seems to be the perfect fit. If There was ever a game to make the masses jump on board with Wii U, it would be this.
Jet Set Radio
Original released for the ill-fated Sega Dreamcast. Jet Set Radio (also known as Jet Grind Radio) eventually made it's way over to Xbox. But it never took off the way it could have. With today's hardware and the fact that pop cultures nostalgia bone is now focused on the 90's. Jet Set Radio could be ridiculously slick. Beautiful cell shaded graphics, a pumping score and loaded with attitude. It's time to get back on the blades and do some wall tagging.
Power Stone
Probably one of the most under appreciated fighting games to come out of Capcom. 4 players would brawl it out, in hopes of obtaining the titular Power Stone. A gem that had the power to make any dream come true. With interactive environments, crazy power ups and a wild cast of characters, it would be awesome to see Capcom revisit this franchise and offer fans of Super Smash Bros. another form of over the top, 4 player arcade fun.
Crimson Skies
Crimson Skies was a pretty solid aerial combat game for the original Xbox. But like many new IP's, it just never took off (pun not intended). There are way too few good aerial combat games on consoles these days and Kidzworld would love to see this game make a high flying return (okay that one was on purpose). 24 players in the skies at once. With players having the ability to jump out and take over other players planes mid-air. Take some of the crazy stunt action of the Just Cause series and put it 10,000 feet in the air. Yup.
Crash Bandicoot
Crash Bandicoot was developed by the now famous studio, Naughty Dog. Developers of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. Cartoon-like 3D Platformer games in general have been a bit of a dead genre over the past decade and it's time to bring them back. A new crash game may actually be in the works, if recent rumors turn out to be true. So let's keep our fingers crossed for a reboot reveal at this years Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).
Perfect Dark
A smart, powerful female government agent caught in the middle of a war between extraterrestrials. Need we say more? Perfect Dark was originally released on the Nintendo 64 to much praise. But after it's disappointing reboot 10 years ago for the Xbox 360, many players have written this series off. Kidzworld is always down for more hardcore female characters and Perfect Dark could be the perfect vehicle for that. Microsoft owns the rights to this series still. Maybe they'll give us something new in the near future. Joanna Dark deserves another chance!
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
After reviewing Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, we couldn't help but think how awesome a reboot of Zombies Ate My Neighbors could be with a similar art style and tight controls. Equip yourself with water guns, candy bombs and more as you save your neighbors from the brain eating hordes of undead. Zombies At My Neighbors is still a lot of fun to play today. But a proper, full scale 3D reboot could be something special.
