Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol :: DS Game Review

Courtesy of Nintendo
Chibi-Robo is back! His first adventure on the Gamecube had the four-inch, battery-powered robot cleaning house to save the day. Now he's the outdoor Blooming Chibi-Robo model and he needs your help to save a run-down park from the grossness that is Miasmo and Sergeant Smogglor. The evil duo are wrecking the place with pollution, the flowers are almost all dead and it's up to you to save the day! Is this environmentally friendly video game any fun? Here's Gary's Chibi-Robo game review.
Saving the Environment
As Chibi-Robo, it's up to you to run around the park,
cleaning up trash, planting seeds and watering the ground to help the
flowers grow. You can also find
stray toys and recharge them to get their help, but you need to watch out for
Miasmo and
Sergeant Smoggler, as well as make sure your
battery doesn't run out! You can get a recharge at your
Chibi-House HQ, but you need to earn
Happy Points to charge up its reserve otherwise poor little Chibi-Robo will run out of juice and that lousy Miasmo will pollute everything.
Green FTW!
Bustin' robo-butt as Chibi-Robo keeps you busy, but it's a
lot of fun! You get to meet lots of
hilarious characters that'll help you out, as well as some equally
cool villains who are out to pollute-ify the park. Once you get things rolling there are also piles of fun
mini-games you can play. It's great!
Go Hug a Tree!
Brace for a serious dose of zzz... Chibi-Robo saves the day all right, but he does it
very, very slowly. It's also only available at
Wal-Mart!
Flower Power or Flower Fail?
With cool characters, solid graphics,
great tunes and a pile of
awesome mini-games, Chibi-Robo's park-saving adventure is a great way to
go green and have a
ton of fun! Don't just save a virtual park though - there are lots of parks and green spaces that could use a little bit of cleaning and love. Even just
cleaning up a little bit each day can really add up!
Thumbs Up:
Great music.
Cool friends with lots of personality.
Even the villains are awesome!
Fun mini-games.
Thumbs Down:
Only available at Wal-Mart.
Fairly slow.
